Ours then became a Circle-K and then all the Circle-K’s in our area went out of business and then it became one of those shady liquor stores where you wonder how they stay in business so you figure they must be a front for some sort of illegal money laundering stuff.

The 7-11’s here sell slurpees, but no bibles or guns either. They do sell P’rn, where circleK don’t
7-Elevens are mostly concentrated in the western US and the Mid Atlantic northeast. There are about 5800 of them, however only about 1200 are owned and operated by 7-Eleven Corp. The rest are independent franchisees (and 7-Eleven is working to sell off the rest to franchisors too).
Don’t ask me why I know this.
Incidentally most c-stores (including 7-Eleven) were started by dairy companies as an outlet to sell milk butter and ice cream before 24×7 grocery stores. It was considered a better business plan than direct house delivery.
