After seeing some of his interview with Bill Moyers, his speech at the Detroit NAACP and his comments at the NPC this morning, I think I have a fully formed (and reasonably well-informed) opinion: Jeremiah Wright is an arrogant, self-absorbed, deluded motherfucker.
He is outraged, OUTRAGED I TELL YOU, at what he sees as an attack, not on him or his incendiary comments, but on The Black Church™. He sees this criticism as an unacceptable “attack” on Black Religious Tradition™.
But he does NOT view his remarks about this country creating AIDS, terrorism, AmeriKKKa, etc. as an attack on this country. He’s just talking truth to power, my brothers and sisters!! He defends his church and his religious practices by calling the U.S a nation of terrorists.
This morning he was strutting at how it was time for him to answer these “attacks” because he won’t just stand by while people attack his “momma’s religion”. Well, he has just signed his pariah papers because if he thinks the majority of Americans are going to stand by while he attacks their momma’s country, he is as wrong as he is offensive.
The enormous majority of the people in this country reject his views for the utter bullshit that they are. Maybe he doesn’t know that or maybe he does know it and he just doesn’t give a shit but he has just buried a shiv in his friend Obama. It may not be fatal but it’s deep.
For every one person that will jump up and sing “HALLELUJAH” when Wright utters his bilge, there are 10,000 that will call it for what it is: hatred from a bottom-feeding, attention-starved race-hustler that is willing to accrete his own power by fanning the flames of ignorance and victimhood in his congregation.
I didn’t think this scumbag could get more radioactive than he already was but after this weekend and today’s comments, he is off the fucking charts.
In the last 72 hours, he has done more damage to the black church and the average black American than the KKK has done in the last 100 years.
If the leaders of the black community and the black church believe that to be truly BLACK, you have to believe this horseshit, we will never have a BLACK president in this country.
Depending on where a candidate is on the political spectrum, I would vote for any race or any color. The vast, vast, vast majority of Americans feel the same way. There are only two kinds of people in this world, good and bad. To subdivide the good because of race, ethnicity, etc. does nothing but cheat oneself from greater good. Of course true racists exist but they exist in appropriately small (and dereasing) numbers.
But maybe skin color is no longer the true issue. Maybe to accept black America now means you must accept Wright’s perverted ideaology and bastardized theology. All I know is that if that’s the case, blacks have excluded themselves from the leadership of this country forever.
Jeremiah Wright, hating your country is not a religious tradition nor is it a defense thereof.

I’m just wondering when he is going to finally admit that he is a spokseman for the Rainbow / Push Coalition.
He sure does have his Jessie Jackson / Al Sharpton impressions down pat, he already is a “religious” figure, and after a little refinement he could also threaten to shut down major cities as well. All he is missing is for an illegitimate child to come out of hiding (and subsiquently be forgiven by the media for having one) and he’s all set.
Well, if I remember correctly he has a son whose last name is not Wright. The son is also in the family business, as is the wife, daughters, maybe former girlfriends. Kind of incestuous, sort of like the Westboro Baptist Church, another group of haters.

I have pretty much the same take on Obama/Wright.
My conclusion is…there’s no getting over this. Obama should be through. This idea that all he has to do is “disown” Wright, and that will solve this problem for him is absurd.
I said the same thing over at Nice Deb. Yes, he’s single-handedly set race relations and black progress back fifty years. How can any white person look at Reverend Wright,and his congregation (including Obama), and not say, WTF???
At this point, Obama would be doing the country a huge favor by dropping out.
